Champagne sales in North America have seen a steady rise from year to year. In Canada, more than 17 million litres of bubbly are sold annually (that’s a half litre for every Canadian). The major component of the partnership is a Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte Lounge at show venues where guests will be invited to partake in an immersive experience, including Champagne and hors d’oeuvres. Cirque du Soleil concessions will also be serving Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte and the collaboration will be rounded out by various digital and retail integrations.

The trend toward sparkling wine consumption in Canada is growing with more and more Canadians opting for bubbly outside of holidays and celebrations when it has traditionally been consumed. In the last few years Champagne sales alone (not including other sparkling wines) have spiked by more than 10% in North America.

268 million bottles of champagne were produced worldwide last year… Since there are 7.442 billion people on the planet, sadly, that is a third of a bottle per person!

Most people chill champagne for too long! Instead of storing your bubbly in the fridge before drinking, experts advise chilling it in an ice bucket for about 30 minutes for optimal taste.

While a classic champagne flute best showcases the stream of bubbles that gives sparkling wine its “sparkle”, the narrow opening prevents the wine from “opening up” and releasing its complexity of aromas and flavours. Instead, bubbly should be served in a regular white wine glass.

Traditionally regarded as an aperitif, champagne has been overlooked as an accompaniment to dinner but bubbly pairs exceptionally well with a variety of foods. Try it with fish, vegetables, and grilled meat.
