Montreal, May 17, 2021 — If you’re looking for a hot summer fling to spice-up your life, one of the world’s most recognizable hot sauce brands has you covered. Canadian food lovers: get ready to fall for the NEW TABASCO® Sriracha Sauce! Launched in 2014 in the USA, the long-awaited, perfect-on-everything condiment is finally making its way across the border, providing a high-quality, no preservative simple ingredient list to hot sauce fans from coast to coast.

TABASCO® Sriracha Sauce is inspired by the original Thai chili topping, but made by the brand that created the iconic pepper sauce in 1868. A twist on the classic recipe, the Sriracha sauce made by the McIlhenny family is a skillful blend of spicy, sweet and savoury flavours of Southeast Asia — with a touch of classic TABASCO® Brand heat. Capturing the spirit of the traditional hot sauce, TABASCO® Sriracha Sauce is gluten, fat and preservative-free. Vegan and vegetarian friendly, the sauce contains high quality ingredients that are Halal, Kosher and non-GMO. With no artificial ingredients that you can’t pronounce, TABASCO® Sriracha Sauce has the sweet chillies and garlic flavours you’d expect, blended with the signature barrel-aged pepper mash for that extra peppery kick.

“As the popularity of Sriracha exploded on the global food scene, the pepper experts at the McIlhenny Company took some time to perfect a recipe that would not only meet the demand of consumers but also exceed expectations,” explains Valerie Nolet, brand manager at I.D. Foods, the distributor of TABASCO® Brand pepper sauces in Canada. “After garnering great insights from fans during an exclusive restaurant promotion, we’re excited to now offer the TABASCO® Sriracha Sauce in a 256 mL squeezable bottle made of recyclable plastic. The new sauce is now available at Longo’s and will be available at Metro in Ontario and Quebec in June.”

Labelled in 25 languages and sold in more than 195 countries and territories, TABASCO® Brand pepper sauces can be found on most dinner tables you’ve ever sat at, pulling from influences from all over the world to create new, exciting products. The new TABASCO® Sriracha Sauce is the first innovation for the brand in Canada since the rollout of its Sweet & Spicy Sauce in 2018.
Though taste and a preservative-free ingredient list are the reasons for the brand’s longevity, it is the variety of heat levels that also sets the brand apart from much of the category. From its mildest offering – TABASCO® Green Pepper Sauce – to its hottest concoction – TABASCO® Habanero Sauce – the new TABASCO® Sriracha Sauce comes mid-way in terms of heat in the TABASCO® Brand family of products.

Made from sweet chilies and garlic, the new premium blend also features barrel-aged peppers, a signature element of the McIlhenny Company’s unparalleled craftsmanship. Thick and rich, the new recipe offers a slightly spicier finish than TABASCO® Original Red Sauce with a rating up to 3,000 on the Scoville Heat Units (SHU), 2,000 SHU less than a jalapeño pepper.

Bold, rich and delicious, the premium TABASCO® Sriracha Sauce can be drizzled on eggs, stir fries and noodles or in any recipe that calls for a combination of sweet chili and garlic. Mix it with honey for a sweet chili dip for fried chicken or with mayonnaise for a sandwich topping or to spice-up egg salad.

Can’t find it at your local grocer? Ask for it by name! TABASCO® Sriracha Sauce is available for new product listing nationally and will retail between $4.99 and $5.99 for a 256 mL squeezable bottle.

McIlhenny Company produces TABASCO® Brand products, which are sold in 195 countries and territories around the world and labelled in 25 languages and dialects.
